Established in 1999, Ecocentric specialises in helping clients to navigate the diversity of complex processes that are required by local, state and federal governments, and their regulatory authorities, with regard to ecological management.

 

Based in Victoria, but with professional experience in all Australian states, Ecocentric has been providing solutions-based advice within the ecological consulting field for over 25 years.  We are adept at coordinating and conducting detailed ecological assessments, at clarifying how a client's project is affected by a site's ecological state, at developing strategies so that a project can satisfy biodiversity regulations as well as client needs, and at successfully bringing a project through the required planning and permit processes.

With broad experience in the ecological field, we are particularly skilled at assessing a project's impact upon native vegetation and habitat in accordance with the Victorian Guidelines for the removal, destruction or lopping of native vegetation offset policy, at identifying options to avoid and minimise ecological impacts, at determining native vegetation offsets where impacts can't be avoided or minimised, and at brokering or otherwise facilitating the provision of any required native vegetation offsets.

 

The broader sectors within which we work include natural resources management, property development (residential, commercial, industrial and subdivision), linear infrastructure (trails, roads, rail and powerlines), large-scale site infrastructure (mining, ports and wind farms) and state-wide projects (defence, hospitals).  With over 25 years in the business, we have built close working relationships with a broad range of consultancies across the environmental field, which we utilise to build multi-disciplinary teams able to address a project's specialised aspects whenever required.  Specialists that we engage or collaborate with to facilitate a project's path through planning and permit processes include aquatic scientists, arborists, botanists, drone services, ecologists, engineers, GIS technicians, landscapers, lawyers, planners, surveyors and zoologists.
